In the first weeks after we are born, we Ostheimer fawns have lots of little white spots on our coat. That way, we are even harder to see in the grass and undergrowth of the forest than the adult deer. That’s good, because we are still very small and delicate, and we can’t yet run away so quickly with our spindly legs.
